Do Christians Have to Go to Church?

How often do we see this played out in our world? We run into the people who claim to be Christians but don’t identify with a local church. What ought we to say to them?

The biblical reality is it just doesn’t make any sense for a Christian to not commit to a local church – whether they realize it or not. It is possible that the person you are talking to hasn’t spent enough time in the word to see that.

To build up that person and encourage them to see the beauty of the local church and our commitment, as Christians, to her, here are a few quick points from a recent Radical article:

  • In 1 Corinthians 12:27 we learn that we are the body and in John 3:29 are the bride of Christ
  • Christ is building up his church and we should desire to be involved in this Matthew 16:18
  • God has set up protections and guardrails for us because of the geat distortion that many seek with God’s truth (1 Timothy 3:15, 6:20 and 2 Timothy 1:14)
